McMinnville Police Department opened an investigation into sexual assault allegations when the two female victims reported to police about two weeks ago. The alleged crimes occurred in 2005 and 2006 at an apartment complex in the NE section of McMinnville. According to the victims, the assailant was Robert Wirth who was the live-in boyfriend of their mother at the time of the assaults.
According to the victims, they were assaulted on multiple occasions when they were between the ages of seven and nine years old.
The victims stated they did not report until now because they were afraid of Mr. Wirth.
On October 1st, after the investigation had been completed, McMinnville detectives attempted to locate Mr. Wirth at his residence in Dundee, but he was at work. He voluntarily came into the police department later that evening and surrendered to the investigating detectives.
Robert Arthur Wirth (11/30/1978) of 906 SW Alder #48, Dundee, was arrested and lodged in Yamhill County Correctional Facility pending arraignment in Circuit Court on the following charges: Rape in the First Degree- Six counts SRA – $600,000.00; Sodomy in the First Degree SRA – $ 50,000.00; Unlawful Sexual Penetration in the First Degree- Two counts SRA – $100,000.00; Sexual Abuse in the First Degree- Five counts SRA – $250,000.00; and Contributing to the Sexual Delinquency of a minor- Six counts SRA – $ 30,000.00.
