Anyone interested in proposed changes to routes and stops for the Linn-Benton Loop bus is encouraged to attend a public meeting August 16, 2011, at Albany City Hall, 333 Broadalbin Street SW.

Meetings are scheduled from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. Those who cannot attend the meetings but have comments are encouraged to send a message at http://www.cityofalbany.net/publicworks/transit/ or call Barry Hoffman, Transit Programs Supervisor, at 541-917-7606.

The proposed changes for Loop service include eliminating the downtown Albany area from both morning and afternoon routes. Bus stops that would be affected include 12th Avenue at Washington Street, 9th Avenue at Washington Street, and 2nd Avenue at Broadalbin Street. In Corvallis, the proposal eliminates stops on both sides of 9th Street at Garfield Avenue.
The route and stop changes are being proposed to ensure the Loop complies with the requirements of an intercity commuter service and to better enable drivers to adhere to the bus schedule.

The Linn-Benton Loop is funded by a partnership between the City of Albany, City of Corvallis, Oregon State University, Linn-Benton Community College, and Benton County and is operated by the City of Albany.
